Lucy Rhymes grew up in Southern Louisiana, where music was everywhere. Initially they learned classical violin, but ended up switching to fiddle after spending more time in the Cajun community. Lucy went to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where they honed both their fiddle skills, as well as their arts administrative skills by not only majoring in Music Media, but also creating the Media Recital Program, and helping to resurrect the university’s record label, Ragin’ Records. COVID-19 hit during their junior year, where they jumped on the need for livestreams and recording of student recitals by co-founding Squad Media Company.

After graduating, Lucy continued working on Squad Media Company, as well as making their side-gig of teaching violin their main gig. While working for a music academy, they added Event Coordinator and Camp Director to their resume, after which they moved to Fort Wayne to work at Sweetwater. They worked in sales for a year, and then decided to go back to wearing the (approximately) a million hats they had worn before, and started working at Heartland Sings in March of 2024!
