Heartland Sings Debuts "Music of the Americas"
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT)- Plymouth Congressional Church hosted a musically-centered celebration for Hispanic Heritage month.
On Sunday, October 8, Heartland Sings debuts its 27th season with Music of the Americas.
Performers incorporated drums, violins, singing, and so much energy. All of the songs performed during the performance was a combination of tradition and original music created by Latino composer. All songs were performed in Spanish.
Ronuel Viera, along with his wife and daughter, came out to the performance to get in on the fun.
"Well even just my comparison from where im from in pennsylvania, the latin community is smaller there so when i moved here it seems to me vibrate." Viera said.
Viera explains he wanted the chance to enjoy the growing Latino community he sees in the Fort Wayne area. Viera says,
"Its just really nice to come to a concert & here it all in Spanish & kind of be overwhelmed by emotion a little bit because of that."
