The Case For a Party

What a difference has Heartland Sings made to the artistic landscape of Fort Wayne and Northeast Indiana in its 28-year history. From amazing programs, educational outreach and cultural impact events like this season’s Peacemaker Project, Heartland Sings has lived up to its mission to “…change lives through song.” That’s certainly worth celebrating with a party, don’t you think?

Of course, I’m rather biased when it comes to celebrating the many ways Heartland Sings has impacted the community. To have spent a quarter century of my life here in Fort Wayne building this wonderful institution along with so many wonderful donors has been the honor of my life. And I am proud of the good work we have done together and continue to do in the region. So I’m always ready to celebrate our artists, our donors, our staff and our boards for all the good work they have made possible. As we often say here at Heartland Sings, “Together, We make Art Happen” and yes together we must party!

What kind of parties should we have? Certainly ones that celebrates our success but then turns our celebratory momentum into a plan for the future. I can tell you, we have a bold vision for the future and we are well positioned to make it happen so long as we have your help and the help of many others. To that end, we are launching a campaign where donors host parties for their friends to spread the word about Heartland Sings and help them find their place among our family of supporters who make art happen!

Last fall, Associate Artistic Director Natalie Young and I hosted one such party for my neighbors at Covington Creek Condos. We had a great time, sharing a light nosh and beverage, performing a selection of songs and sharing why we are excited about Heartland Sings. It was great to hear why folks love and appreciate what we do; but it was also great to meet some new folks who did not know Heartland Sings and how excited they were to learn more about us. These “donor hosted parties” are just one way our supporters (staff, board members, donors, clients, etc) can help spread the news about Heartland Sings.

In the days ahead, many of you will be hearing from me. I’ll be inviting you to host a party. It’s easy and will do more to increase our success in meeting our mission.

I’ll be in touch soon!

Gratefully yours,

Maestro Robert Nance
