Singing at Houston Grand Opera as a kid and following a fearless artistic life with Sydney F.

Today (09/12), we had a conversation with Sydney Fabregas the soprano Principal Teaching Artist at Heartland Sings and an avid reader and a lover of long distance calls to keep in touch with family.

"Sydney Fabregas is a rising American Soprano carving her path in classical and musical theatre performance. She has recently completed her Master's Degree at Carnegie Mellon University and performed her 2022 Graduate Recital for her professors, friends and family. Sydney began studying classical voice in her junior year of high school and, a year later, secured a spot in the Houston Grand Opera High School Voices Studio and went under the tutelage of Dr. Jason Lester. Embracing a whirlwind senior year, balancing musical theatre, opera, and college readiness.

While at attending Palm Beach Atlantic University, Sydney cultivated her own private online teaching studio. Amidst her myriad achievements, she secured an ensemble role in Palm Beach Opera's "Turandot," a production that preceded the COVID-19 quarantine. Graduating amidst pandemic challenges, Sydney embarked on her Carnegie Mellon Masters under the mentorship of opera luminary Maria Spacagna. A triumph in VOICExperience's Opera Idol Competition paved the way for her embodiment of Monica in Menotti's "The Medium," a role she delivered with finesse in Ames, Iowa. Sydney cherishes her time at VOICExperience and expresses gratitude for working alongside the esteemed baritone Sherrill Milnes.

Sydney currently lives in Fort Wayne, Indiana and works at Heartland Sings as a Principal Teaching Artist who implements educational programming for the company".
