Today ( 08/31) we had an enjoyable and rewarding conversation with Lisa Gerstenkorn , the alto princ pal vocal artist at Heartland Sings. Lisa is a cat lover, a collections, and loves different cuisines.

"Praised for her genuine stage presence and signature low notes, contralto Lisa Marie Gerstenkorn is an active and enthusiastic performer and educator of varied vocal genres.

Born and raised in Kansas, she moved to Fort Wayne, IN in 2020 to perform and teach as a Full-time Principal Vocal Artist with Heartland Sings. Lisa premiered the lead opera roles of Mezzo in Bonnie McLarty’s Snow Angel with Lawrence Opera Theatre, and Louise McPhetridge Thaden in DeSpain and Peters’ Staggerwing with Opera Kansas. She was a Filstrup Resident Artist with the Tulsa Opera, and also sang in eighteen different operas with their professional opera chorus.

Internationally, she has performed as Arnalta in Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea with the Halifax Summer Opera Festival in Nova Scotia, Canada, and as Zita in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi in Spain and Portugal with the American Opera Studio.

As a concert soloist, has performed Mozart’s Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, and Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater. Lisa has also performed as Julia Child in Hoiby’s one-woman opera Bon Appétit!, Glinda in the Wizard of Oz, and the title role in Evita. She performs the music of artists Adele, Carole King, Patsy Cline, Bonnie Raitt, Judy Garland, Julie London, and Karen Carpenter.

Lisa enjoys teaching voice lessons to students of all ages. Before relocating to Fort Wayne, she taught a full private Voice Studio in Kansas and Missouri and simultaneously held positions as Adjunct Voice Instructor at Pittsburg State University and Missouri Southern State University." Christie Browning

Christie is a five-time HSPA award-winning writer with a long resume of creative, compelling writing. Her background includes journalism and marketing, which allows her to bring a specialized voice to the pieces created for her clients. On her own, Christie has written for newspapers, online magazines and major publications. For her clients, Christie produces web designs, press and media releases, blog articles, downloadable worksheets and flyers as well as social media content. Her long-time career as an entrepreneur gives her unique insight into what her clients need to promote their products, services and messages.
